Dogs could be a diabetic's best friend

Dogs have long been called 'man's best friend', but that may be especially true for diabetics. Irish researchers have trained some dogs to recognize and alert their owners about dangerous drops in blood sugar. Experts aren't sure how dogs are able to detect the blood sugar drop, but they say it may be due to subtle chemical changes that a dog can smell.  Read full story >
