Lack of sleep linked to Type 2 diabetes

Americans who get little shuteye during the work week may be putting themselves in danger of Type 2 diabetes, a new study has found. Researchers say that of 1,455 study participants, those who got fewer than six hours of sleep per night were nearly five times as likely to develop the disease as those who got six to eight hours of sleep. The study adjusted for age, body mass index, depression, and several other factors, and experts say it suggests there is a complex interaction between sleep and illness.  Read full story >
