Obesity med trial shows disappointing results

The experimental obesity drug Lorcaserin has shown disappointing results in a recent Phase 3 clinical trial, despite meeting its study goals, experts say. Drugmaker Arena Pharmaceuticals says that the medication did help patients lose weight, but only 10 pounds more than the patients who took a placebo. However, the medication was found to be safe and effective, and its side-effects were similar to those seen with placebo.
