Eating a diet high in the healthy Omega 3s found in fresh fish may help guard against heart disease, but a new study suggests it may also raise the risk of diabetes. A study involving over 200,000 people found that those who ate the most fish per week were also more likely to develop diabetes in the following 18 years. Scientists say other studies will need to be performed to determine the link between Omega 3 and diabetes, and they point out that numerous other studies have shown the fatty acid to be beneficial to health.
