Fatty liver may be the best indicator of obesity's effects

People who have a "beer belly," or who are apple-shaped may have more health problems than they know, a new study suggests. Researchers say that fat deposits in the liver could be a better indicator of health than belly fat in general. A study found that people who had fatty livers were more likely to have high triglyceride levels and to be insulin resistant than overweight people who had no fatty deposits in their liver.
