What You Eat After Exercising Matters

The benefits of exercise may be felt immediately in the body, rather than as a long-term benefit of fitness, a new study suggests. Researchers found that the most recent bout of exercise a person had undergone heightened the body's response to insulin--a factor that is linked to a lower risk of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. Experts say in order to get the best results from the hours of improved insulin resistance, exercisers should eat a meal that is low-carbohydrate, but not low calorie.  Read full story >
