3 Family Habits May Slash Childhood Obesity Risk

Three traditional family habits may almost halve your child's risk of becoming obese, researchers say. Eating dinner as a family five times per week, limiting TV time to less than two hours per day, and making sure a child gets more than 10.5 hours of sleep per night is associated with a 40 percent reduction in risk. The study's lead researcher says each habit appeared to reduce a child's risk, but it was the combination of behaviors that proved most dramatic.
