Processed Meats Increase Heart Disease Risk: Study

According to a new Harvard study, it's eating processed meat--not unprocessed red meat--that increases a person's risk of developing heart disease and diabetes. Processed meat is any type of meat that's preserved by smoking, curing, salting, or adding a chemical preservative. This includes commonly consumed foods such as hot dogs, sausage, bacon, and processed deli meats.
