Metformin May Work Better Than Other Drugs in Preventing Death: Study

Patients who take the diabetes drug metformin may be less likely to die over the course of 10 years than patients who take insulin secretagogues, a new study has found. The study of 107,806 diabetics found that patients who took secretagogues were 20 to 33 percent more likely to die over the course of the study than those who took the more commonly prescribed metformin.  Read full story >
