Visual Impairment from Diabetes on the Decline

Results from a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that the percentage of adults with diabetes who have visual impairment dropped from 26 percent to 19 percent between 1997 and 2010. CDC officials say that though the declining trends are encouraging, it's still imperative that these rates continue to improve, and that diabetic patients increase their rates of recommended eye examinations.  Read full story >
