Juvenile Diabetes

Type 1Diabetes can occur at any age but usually appears between infancy and the late 30s, most typically in childhood or adolescence. It is the fifth-deadliest disease in the United States. This year, more than 213,000 will die from diabetes and its related complications. Of major concern, are estimates that between 8% and 45% of new diabetes cases in children are now type 2, most likely because of the increase in childhood obesity.
