Do Weight Training And Aerobics Go Together?

Q: Will I reduce the effectiveness of my weight training program if I do it during the same workout as my aerobic activity? Does it make a difference if I do these exercises at different times in the day; for instance, weight training in the morning and aerobic exercise in the evening?

A: Presumably, the longer you wait between an aerobic workout and a weight lifting workout, the more effective each will be. So yes, if you weight train in the morning and do an aerobic exercise in the evening you are probably getting more results than if you do them at the same time. Of course, there are other factors to consider: your age (older people need more recuperation time), the intensity of the workout (the harder the workout, the longer the recuperation), and the length of the workout.
