can i only work my lower body 2 times a week

is it ok to work your lower body every alternate day without working the upper body. i am only trying to lose about 3-4 inches around my butt.i dont want to change anything in the upper body.

    Hi Purpleflower,

    My recommendation is mix it up, if you never work your upper body, you will lose strength and muscle mass which is not what you want. You also need to do some sort of cardio to help you accelerate the fat burning process. Most people disregard cardiovascular exercises which coupled with strength training are a powerful 1-2 punch to help you burn fat and develop lean muscle.


    So, you can do a split body routine and work your upper body once per week and the rest of the days you can work your lower body. For example

     

    Mon - Lower Body

    Tue - Cardio

    Wed - Upper Body

    Thur - Cardio

    Fri - Lower Body
