Hi Kerbear82
Let me give you a big big welcome to MyDietExercise.com People helping people is what this site and the posts are all about. Here, you will find some great articles and information to help with your journey. More importantly, you will find encouragement because that is the fuel we rely on to achieve our dreams.
You are so right, it's all about baby steps and working out twice a week is a fantastic start and what a great example you are setting for your kids. I want to encourage you to keep sharing your story, your thoughts and feelings and your milestones. You can even post pictures too.
The best advice I can give you is don't quit. Sometimes the changes are slow, but don't quit. There are days you will feel like not working out, those are the days you must show up even if its for just a few minutes. Showing up is a victory all by itself.

I know what you are all going through as I was in the same boat before!
I joined aerobics classes, tried walking to work etc. Even tried Atkins diet and Cabbage soup diet. At one time, I even tried diet supplements....I felt ill after that.
When I was about to give up, I chanced upon a Tai Chi method that works....so now I spend only 10 minutes a day and have been at it for almost 1 year now. Since it is so effective, if I keep to my 10 minutes a day every day, I managed to lose 3 inches from my waisteline....it was mainly the belly fat that I found so difficult to lose with other methods. I'm now keeping to this regime to maintain and also to remain flexible.
My advice is to find a method that works and which you can stick to. All the best!
