    Hi there,

Good Question, and one that can only be answered by your gym's staff.  You are right in that you are certainly not lifting one, two or three pounds.  Different brands of weight machines have different units of weight in each weight plate.  You're best bet is to ask a personal trainer or other staff member at your gym to get the correct weight units for each machine.

    Hope this helps.

That's a terrific answer to your question since each machine is different.  Try adding free weights (barbells, dumbells, etc.) along with your weight machine routine(s).  Free weights work on your core strength as well as targeted muscles, so you get a bit more of a workout.  Keep lifting!!  Smile
