Weight in Gym Machines

I have been working on doing weight training on the machines at the gym such as legs and arms. My question is ... How many pounds is in each of the black blocks on the weight machines? I have noticed they say 1, 2, 3, 4 etc... (but that can't be in lbs, I'm thinking it's prob around 2lbs?) I would like to know how many lbs I am lifting each time I do my exercises. Thank you.
