Skipping Breakfast? A Horrible Mistake You Are Making.

By Kenn Kihiu, Health Guide Sunday, November 30, 2008

Without a doubt it's the most important meal of the day and yet it's the most skipped meal of the day.  The top excuses for skipping breakfast are "I'm too busy or I'm running late" however every time you skip breakfast, you are telling your body "I want to get fat" it's really that simple.  Eating breakfast is everybody's one size fits all nutrition

requirement.  You must eat breakfast and not just drink a cup of coffee.

Negative Chain Reaction

Most people tend to think they are saving time by skipping breakfast.  Some think avoiding breakfast would be a good way way to reduce calories from their diet because they are usually not hungry in the morning but this sets a very bad precedence for your day with dire consequences for your metabolism.

The first meal of the day is called breakfast because it literally breaks the fasting that you went through while you were sleeping, so skipping breakfast sends the message to your body that you are still fasting which slows down your metabolic rate and this is the beginning of a metabolic downward spiral.

Hungry Why Wait

If you don't eat breakfast, you will start your days activity with very low blood sugar which leads you to being less energetic and becoming very hungry.  You will impulsively reach for unhealthy mid-morning snacks (usually high in sugar and fat) in an effort to boost your energy levels which also makes you eat more during lunch or dinner.

Best Foods To Eat

Having raw natural foods such as fruits are some of the best foods you can have for breakfast.  I also try to choose foods that have some protein, good carbs and healthy fats for my first meal of the day.  But if you are in a hurry, grab some fruit like banana's or apples instead of skipping breakfast.
