It's World Diabetes Day - Get Great Diabetes-Friendly Recipes from FoodFit!

November 14th is World Diabetes Day, a global awareness campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation.

It's a day to recognize the growing rate of diabetes, especially in children and teens. For this reason, the theme for both 2007 and 2008 is "Diabetes in Children and Adolescents."

World Diabetes Day is also a time to celebrate the people that live with diabetes every day of their lives.

FoodFit recognizes how important it is for everyone, especially those with diabetes, to closely monitor their diets and eat consciously nutritious meals. We also realize that even thought it might not seem like it, it can actually be fun to eat healthy foods - there's no reason that anyone should have to give up eating robust and flavorful meals because of dietary restrictions.

We'd like to offer a few delicious diabetes-friendly recipes to show you how easy it can be to eat healthy foods that still taste great! This weekend, try one of these:

You can get our full list of diabetes-friendly recipes here and find even more in Diabetes Fit Food, the collaborative cookbook from FoodFit and the American Diabetes Association!
