    There is nothing dangerous about today's crop protection inputs.  Your biggest risk in any produce is the person who handled that piece of fruit last had just sneezed into their hand - or worse.  Advocating for expensive organic food is not responsbible when too many Americans are already not getting 5 servings a day.  LOCAL food may taste better because it hasn't been on a truck all day and will have more nutrients because it may be fresher.  But, organic produce grown with manure will pathogens on it that need to be washed off with soap & water.
