It seems that full fat milk from grass fed cows would be the most beneficial for the elderly, who eat very sparingly and cannot afford meat so readily. We do need fats in out diet and grass fed organic milk is high in all the amino acids. Most elderly have poor digestion and meat is hard to eat, so full fat dairy and eggs with omega 3 is a wonderful benefit. also oils that are in avovado would be easy to digest in small amounts. I think the low fat diet was a travesty to our health and new research cannot stay in their respective pulications, but should be shared by well read nutritionists interested in the real future of foods.

I appreciate what you say,it makes sense. But unfortunately in Manhattan most of the grocery stores lower the temp on the milk and I have had bad milk many times after I get home with it. I care for my 85 yr. old mom and must taste every milk purchase from fear that she will end up sick from it. It is so hard to care for the elderly when grocers who are looking to save on their refrigeration bill take the lives our our elders and babies into the dangert zone. Also it would help if guidelines were published on good fats versus bad fats.  It's an uphill battle caring for loved ones in a world filled with doctors who want to push the pills they are paid to promote and food venders who just don't care either.  I hope to find help today on -line and at the hospital nutritionist.
