Heather: you may be a good dietician but you know nothing about the science of bariatric medicine. Telling obese people to ignore their hunger is like telling injured people bleeding from their femoral artery to use a band-aid.
Obesity is the most complex disease known to medical science. Cures for cancer are trivial compared with cures for obesity. Hunger is a remarkable complex problem that has many potential causes, and may stem from the stomach, the gut, or the brain. All have different roots; none can be easily addressed. No hunger symptom can be addressed long term with palliatives such as you suggest.
Stick to diet and nutrition, which you know slightly, and stay the hell away from giving advice about obesity.

Exercise isn't hard. It's unnoticable when you are distracted by something. Play sports. Go out for hikes, help people move or paint. Create an active lifestyle. Then it doesn't matter how much you eat. Remember the goal...calories out just has to be higher than calories in.
