Not losing ANY weight no matter how hard I try?!........

I have found out this year that I have diabetes 2.

Workout method

Is is harmful to do a workout in which the upper body and lower body is integrated into one thing? Like do a set of curls, then a set of squats. In other words, constantly be working a muscle but from a different part of the body.  Is this bad good, or just the same as a normal workout.
