unexplained hives for over 1 year now.

For over a year now I have been getting hives on my arms, tops of my feet, thighs and chest. There doesn't seem to be anything causing it, that I know of. I have changed laundry soap, body lotions... everything I could think of, but still no results. I have also tried allergie pills and they too did not help. The hives look like red little dots that sometimes get white and swollen looking. They come and go, once or twice a day, they are sometimes very itchy but at other times can't even tell they are there unless i see them. It is very embarrassing and would really like to find out what it is and what I can do to treat it.

Thanks

I got hives as a six grader, ten years later and now nine years later.  The doctor has no explaination of why.  First we tried a cortizone shot, then methylprednisolone pack for 5 days and now prednisone for 45 days straight.  I hope this works, it is miserable especially in my sleep.  My entire body will break out  in hives and my face will even swell.  Did you get any relief from your hives?
