Hi. I have spent the last ten weeks on a raw food diet. I soak my nuts and seeds, then dehydrate them below 110 degrees. I eat lots of salads and fruits. I don't eat meat, but occasionally will have cooked seafood, fish. At the same time, I am exercising at the YWCA three times a week, doing water aerobics and strength training. The whole ten weeks, I have gained 5 lb. (I am thrilled, however, to see my blood glucose levels fall into normal range.) It is not muscle, either, because my clothes fit much tighter. I do have diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and sleep 10-12 hours a day. I seem to have no choice about the sleep because I am in a stupor. I use a CPAP and oxygen at night. I am on a plelthora of medications. I have been diagnosed recently with anemia, B-12 deficiency, and Vit. D. deficiency (This was before I started on the raw food diet). I am taking prescription ferrous sulfate, and 1,000 B-12 and 1,000 Vit. D. I doubt these could be causing the weight gain, though. What do you think is causing it?
