Achieving your goals of lowering your cholesterol levels should start with eliminating all sources of animal fat from your diet. Animal fat is found in dairy products like: ice cream, sour cream, butter, cheese, milk, and yogurt. Animal fat is abundant in red meats: beef and pork. Stick with fish and chicken if you must have meat.

You will be surprised how much you numbers improve just by eliminating animal fat. As Michael Pollan says, "Eat food, mostly plants, not too much."
