Q: Weight gain

How can i gain weight I am 5'9 and only weight 118. I am underweight for my height. I would like to gain at least 10-15 pounds can someone please give me any suggestions to how I can do this and still eat healthy???

Weight gain and weight loss is determined by energy intake and energy expenditure.  If you take in more calories than you burn you will gain weight, it is that simple.

 

Further if you "eat healthy", exercise and maintain a calories surplus (take in more calories that you burn) you will likely gain muscle.  To better understand exaclty how many calories you are eating I suggest logging your food for a few weeks!

Someone once told me his D1 basketball coach told the team applesauce is the best food to eat to put on weight...

I have never heard this one before and I dont see how it could be. Applesauce is mostly water.
