Hi Apple3

The best time to workout is when you think you can perform your best or when it's most convenient for you.

I can work out late at night and still get some good nights rest.  Other people have a problem sleeping well after working out really late; it all depends on how your body reacts to late night stimulus.

Most of my workouts are in the morning, I find that it opens up the rest of the day for everything else and starts me off with a bang. Let me advice you not to get too caught up in working early vs. late.  Workout when it's good for you and put 100% effort and expect great results.
