A diet of about 1500 calories with fruit, veggies, fat free dairy (1-2 servings), about 8 ounces of protein (total in the day), 2-3 servings of "bread-like carbohydrates" and a couple of very small servings of healthy fat (olive oil, nuts, avocadoes) should when accompanied by an exercise program help you to lose wwight - about a pound or two a week.

Click on diets and read up on serving size, menu planning and also check out some exercise programs.

In terms of eating frequency - 3 meals and 2 small snacks daily is a reasonable set up for those 1500 calories.
