Q: I love to jog, but at 47 I am having lots of problems with my calves.

It takes along time to warm them up so that I can get a good jog.

Hello Slimchick

 

The older you get the more likely you are to have problems with jogging because it is very hard on many parts of your legs, not just your calves. The appeal for many people in jogging is the peacefulness and the scenery. If this is the case for you, there are other activities that will satisfy your desire for a little calm and space in your life. If you have a large body of water to swim in or cannoe/kayak in then you might find it there. If there is a good hike near by, many people find long mild hikes easier on their legs than jogging. If it is just the exercise you need, try rowing on a rowing machine. It is amazing for you and much easier on your legs.
