Hi,

I am going to give you a couple ideas on the activity side of things.  As we age, muscle mass decreases and metabolism (the rate you burn calories) with it.  Stregth training activities would have huge impact on maintaining and building muscle mass, which in turn will boost your metabolism and help you lose weight.

If you are not currently active, speak with your MD before starting an exercise program.  If your facility has a weight room that is a great place to start.  Not sure how to use the equipment, ask someone first before hurting yourself!

Dynaband's are inexpensive and a simple tool for toning muscle.  If you have access to a physical therapist, they would be a great resource for getting some direction on how to use a dynaband.

Last, but not least, get out and walk!  Start off slow and build up your endurance.  As you incorporate more activity, you will start to notice some weight loss, more energy, and you'll feel better overall!

As far as how you eat to lose weight. . . .too vast for me to get into in a quick answer!  Nothing wrong with a sweet now and then - everything in moderation!

All the best,
