I had 2 very intense very long workouts this weekend and GAINED weight!
I went on two very long hikes over the weekend for a total of 9 hours of walking time. I didn't eat bad, in fact I had nothing but whole graines and veggies, and a little cheese. I ended up gaining 4 lbs! Anyone know why?
If you are undereating to support weight loss while you "exercise excessively" - your scale can register strange weights (like an unplanned weight gain.
You need to eat protein - lean - and enough of it to support the exercise plus drink adequate water and watch the grains which if not portion controlled can add up to alot of calories.
So eat adequate amounts of proteins like beans, fish, lean white meats, soy, fat free dairy and small servings of nuts along with fruits, veggies, small servings of healthy fats and portioned whole grain/high fiber carbs. You need to work out a menu plan and especially follow it on exercise days.

There could be a few answers for this - most importantly: ask your body!!! Do take in mind that muscle is heavier than fat, the time of day and also when in the month you weighed yourself could also be attributes to your weight gain.
Also remember that you need to eat right for what exercise you are planning to partake in.
