hi-i actually am on a 1200 calorie diet too and i excercise during the day-i do not eat extra calories as that defeats the purpose of cutting the other calories-so i would not eat those calories -and 1200 calories isnt really that much so you should beable to consume that-if you are having problems eating that much try eating bigger meals in the morning and lunch and lighter at dinner I find that helps with energy as well-hope that helped some
