Hi Elise,   Absolutely!  Keep up the good work.  By walking two miles every evening, you will not only burn more calories from the walk, but you'll be building muscle.  More muscle means a higher metabolism (or to say a different way, you'll burn more calories throughout the entire day).  All leads to the desired weight loss!   Changing habits is not easy, so stick with it.  When it comes to food, the bottom line is calories.  What goes in must be less than what you burn to shed the pounds.  As long as you are selecting healthy choices and eating regular meals/snacks you will see progress.   Always remember to go by how your clothes are fitting before turning to a scale to measure your progress.   All the best, Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Lose Weight
