Dropping 5 pounds in 3 days and keeping the weight off is unrealistic and NOT something I would recommend.
However, if you are needing to squeeze into a dress Friday night that is slightly snug, you should eliminate foods high in sodium and reduce your carbohydrate intake (reduce, not eliminate!). Both steps will decrease the water you retain and make you slightly trimmer - for the short term.
