Q: i'm 13 and have fat in my stomach and thigh area id like to tone that up a bit, what can i do?

i workout a lot but can't seem to loose the access weight in my stomach and thigh area.

i eat healthy

what exercises can i do to help, but i have tried crunches and they don't help me.

Stomach fat can be really tough to get rid of - but it is doable.  I'd make sure your diet is calorie conscious with really good attention to portion control - just "eating healthy " is a good start but it still requires awareness of total daily calories.  A good day's outline -

 

2 servings (90 calories each) dairy products

3-4 fruit servings

4-5 vegetable servings (without high fat dressing) - a serving is a cup

6-8 ounces of protein (total)- includes eggs, fish, white meat, beans soy foods

3-4 (80 calorie servings each) of bread/cereal/rice/pasta/ -whole grain-high fiber choices

3 -4 (45 calories each) servings of healthy fat like olive oil-avocado - nuts or peanut butter

 

Then add in 45-60 minutes of vigorous exercise - jogging, hill walking, biking, etc. most days of the week.  You can keep doing crunches but you need to burn off those stomach "fat deposits."

 

If it's really important to you, involve your parents and let them know that - they can really help by buying the right foods, cooking healthy and joining your exercise efforts or just supporting them.

ME TOO!!! Except Im 12. I still look O.K. ...... but a little heavier than I would like. I researched and apparently, im normal weight, but everyone in my class is stick thin! I have stopped eating in hopes to lose weight and almost nothing you say can stop me.

Zena, not eating will KILL you... will that stop you? if you stop eating your body starts keeping fat in your body to save it but if you just eat lots of fruits and veggies you'll be fine! go for eating as little startches and carbs as possible but DO NOT cut them out of your diet! drink lots of water! if you don't like the tast of the water you get(I HATE all water taste and we have well water so...) just get bottled water and put flavor packs in it(packs of powder that change the flavor of water. they come in lemon, grape, many teas, cherry, almost every flavor) and every now and then eat something like chocolate 'cause it's a health food in some ways!

 im 13 and 5ft and i eat between 1500 and 1800 calories.dont og over that or under that. and dtill exercise and eat healthy the weight will slip off. good luck!

Hi there, your only 13 and most girls your age think this. You should be Happy with your body and smile!Laughing

 

However, if you really want to loose some weight you should try regular exersises (mabey sports or your local gym) and set your mind to a diet (weightwatchers or the breakfast special k) it really helped me out  lot.
