I feel your pain. I packed on 50 pounds of weight I do NOT need and I HATE it. The only GOOD thing to happen is that my small chest is finally my lifelong goal of a nice full, round 40D bustline. But it took packing on 50 pounds to get it there and now I am at risk for heart disease and breast cancer since I now sport a high BMI and high cholesterol. I have a 1 in 3 risk of suffering a heart attack soon because of my heavy weight, poor BMI and high cholesterol. My breast cancer risk is also very high as a result, since my mom had it recently as well. Losing one of my big beautiful breasts would be DEVASTATING, to say the least! So now I have every reason to shed this ugly 50 pounds I need to get rid of NOW. My risk factors are extremely high for cancer and heart disease so I MUST shed the weight NOW before I get sick with one of these conditions. I also look 7 months pregnant and hate hiding my once trim body under baggy clothes. I keep praying that no one will ask me, "So when's the baby due?" At my age, not gonna happen!

So here's what I suggest: take small steps. I've begun ridding myself of my favorite high fat foods that I've loved for years. Can't eat 'em anymore without dire consequences. I'm exchanging them for healthier alternatives. Pizza? Sure, love it, but a salad is filling, too, and with a good low fat dressing I'm happy. A 400 calorie muffin, 200 calories of which are fat? Trail mix instead: nuts, seeds and raisins, and just as satisfying. Small changes make a HUGE difference. Drink LOTS of water, too. That will help!

I walk a mile a day now even though my part of the country has been inundated with rain, rain, rain, rain, rain! It rains every day, for crying out loud! If I can't walk, I get out my mini-stepper which has sat in my bedroom for years and "walk" for as long as I can. Right now, even walking a mile is torment. It feels like climbing Mt. Everest. I hurt, I'm winded as hell and going up or down hills is miserable, but I figure, in time, as I adjust to that, I'll add distance, a little at a time. I walk with my iPod on and listen to music that takes my mind off of the fact that my body is KILLING me while I walk. I'm so heavy that walking that distance is a bear, but I've GOT to do it, got to. No choice. I carve out the time each day instead of flopping on the sofa and popping open my laptop and spending the rest of the night being totally sedentary like I have for too long now.

These small changes have meant losing 6 lbs. so far. Not much, but it's SOMETHING. If I can keep this up, I'll lose more weight and I HOPE that I can keep my full bustline even AFTER I lose the weight. I'd love to be slender but big busted. It would bum me out to go back to being small chested again like I used to be before the weight gain. I'd like to wear sexy plunging necklines and tight clothes and be able to show off not only a slender body but a good full chest to go along with it! At my age, that would be GREAT. Yesteday someone said to me, your face looks young but your hair looks old. Left handed complement, to say the least. No, I want people to say I look GREAT even though I am a "woman of a certain age". A trim body and big breasts would be my ideal!
