My parents will not allow me to have a Facebook. I am 13 years old, and I think that I am responsible enough. All of my friends are younger than me, yet they all have one. I don't want to sneak behind their backs to do it and I will NEVER resort to that because I can assure you the punishment will be brutal plus I don't want to break my and my parents trust. Can you please help me out in this situation please? Thanks so much.

I wrote my parents an essay with all of the reasons why they should let me have a Facebook when I was in the same situation as you. (And they said I couldn't have one till I turned 18!)
I used a normal essay format like for school and included the reasons that Facebook is safe with the privacy settings, it isn't a time waster (because I wouldn't go on until I was done with my homework), it teaches me skills that will allow me to be a contributing member of society in this "digital age," and that I had proven myself many times to be responsible (and I gave them examples).
