You really cant although i suppose it depends on what you like. If you like things that make you gain weight and you eat them then you will gain weight. There is no magic diet pill that actually works if that is really what you are trying to find out.

actully

your body burns 1200 calories a day with sleeping talking walking and regular stuff

if you eat 1400 calories you just have to excercise 200calories and its all gone but if you want to lose weight eat less than 1200 about 1000

and you will lose 200 calories a day!!!

It's far more complicated than this in most situations and this general rule has some problems with it. The best thing is to eat healthily, but don't kill yourself over a treat or something.
