Q: I am currently taking Lupron for endometriosis. I am bloated and miserable. Can I take evening primrose with the Lupron?

I took Lupron about 15 years ago after a surgery for endometriosis. I remember feeling wonderful. Over the years I have been given other diagnosis: fibromyalgia, raynauld's syndrome, and migraines. I am 46 years old and my endometriosis came back. I jumped at the chance to be back on Lupron. However, this time I have experienced severe bone pain in my spine as well as pain and bloating in my lower abdomen and back. Is there anything I can take to alleviate the pain and swelling? Is evening primrose ok to take with Lupron?

So sorry you are suffering right now. I had this very same treatment. I took evening primrose capsules at night, and flaxseed oil too. It helped a little. The only thing that seemed to help was cutting out drinking, and taking an anti-inflammatory. The injection is always more intense at first, so maybe it will mellow out in a few days. If it is really too awful, as it was for me, my docs suggested surgery to deal with it once and for all. still on the fence on that one. Feel better!

I know first hand how horrible you must feel at times---I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 7 years ago, Spinal Stenosis about 2 yrs. ago. Wasn't too bad until the last 11 months---back pain so abd that I can only walk about 5 feet and have to stop and wait until the numbness, burning and pain shooting down my right leg

let up enough so that I can walk another 5 feet. My husband and I had health insurance for 40 yrs., and didn't use it except for meds and 1 out-patient gall-bladder removal. Of course, now, when I desparetely need it, I can't even get an MRI so that I could possibly get some exercises to decrease these symptoms!!

Anyway, be very careful adding ANY med without speaking with the Doctor that has prescribed and administers the Lupron. Even though Morgan took the primrose without any problems, you are you! You never know what might be a dynamite cure for one person, is a deadly poison for another!!! Talk to your Doc first !!

I might encourage you to consider having a hysterectomy to deal with the endometriosis permanently. I finally found this to be my best decision(not an easy one). I was on Lupron to treat endometriosis for several years. I have found that Lupron can have other affects which I think I am still realizing. Endometriosis is an autoimmune disease- fibromyalgia and the other conditions you mention are also autoimmune. There are no great cures for endomtriosis and affects a lot more women than people realize. Make sure that you are getting good medical advice. Best of luck and my prayers to you.

Been there done that!

From experience you must, must talk to your doc. about ostheoporose. Due to that lupron depot medic. taken years ago, I now must take some other drugs for osthe.. It is one of the big side effect. Be worned, take some calcium vitam. as soon as possible.

SOLUTION FOR ENDO.

Now, I have found the cause of my endomet... probleme. I always wondered what caused it, with no answer, I discovered something totaly not related that SOLVED all my endo. problems. Had I known that before, all the agony I would have SPARED MYSELF!!! + Surgery, treatments, expensive medications

Get on a GLUTEN FREE DIET, it's a tough process to convert to all gluten free, but it's very possible and it will save you the pain, the loads of symptoms the endom. causes will vanish!! I can promise you!

The swelling of the intestins causes all sorts of defect to organs besides them, therefore glands suffer from being squeesed resulting in a malfunction; as simple as that!

You won't have to take medication, won't have side effects, and will eat so much more healthier. The difficult part is the complete conversion, as their is gluten in every modern food. In it's nature, food is ok, ( apart from wheat itself) but everything that has been processed by human, contains some gluten. Doctors wont agree and will still recommend wheat, for the fibers: IT WAS KILLING ME.!

No more fibers from wheat for me, and I'm in a very good shape, no pain, no medic. other then vitamines for ostheop... because it took me too long to start the prevention.

Hope I can help, good luck. Just think about it, no drugs to take, no chemical, no pain. Why not give it a try for at least 6 months. It is the hardest part to remove all gluten from your eating habits. Can't be worst then diabetics, high blood pressure, loosing wheight or any kind of other changes to make you better!

Healthy Louise...
