My Tanita bathroom scale says my BMI is 38, but your BMI calculator says 24.5. Which is correct?

I have noticed that my Tanita bathroom scale seems to be unable to differentiate between calorie-free water and heavy calories.  After drinking much water during the day I will show up as higher BMI than after eating something like chocolate.
