Q: Losing weight after 35

I am approaching 35 years old and hadn't gained any weight in almost 6 years until recently.  I exercise consistently 5 - 7 days a week and eat pretty healthy (oatmeal for breakfast, sandwich or soup for lunch and dinner is usually brown rice, vegetables and chicken or tofu.  I am trying to lose about 5 lbs but am not successful.  Any suggestions

Good for you for trying to lose weight.  Start by taking a serious look at the way you eat.  Start a food journal and write down literally everything you eat.  Sometimes when you work out a lot,  you start to feel like you can eat anything because you are burning it off.  Take a good look at your diet and see if you can cut out 200 calories per day.  Let us know how it goes.

Good luck!

Four simple words, Eat Less and Move More. You have to expend more calories than you take in, in order to lose any weight.

As strange as it may sound....make sure you are actually getting ENOUGH calories. I have been faced with the situation of NOT putting enough in so my body is hanging on to every last calorie I do consume.....meaning NO weight loss. I am NOT a junk food junky, by the way. It's veggies, whole grains, etc. Also, change up your exercise routine. Cardio every other day or even every third day. This will confuse your body and may help you to lose those stubborn 5lbs you want to lose.
