It's a very tough journey to quit cigarettes and then NOT turn to another addiction or just to simply always want something in yiur mouth (to replace that cigaretted). You are so not alone in this journey - I'd actually recommend Weight watchers because they offer a support group, weekly meetings and several dietary approaches. Be kind to yourself but do try to lose the weight. As far as exercise - a walking program can help you shake off the munchies and destress. I'd get a gym membership if you can so again, you'll have gym buddies to support you.
They say you replace one habit with another and my guess is you have done that. You quit smoking and started eating, you need to address the issues you are feeding. I did the same but lost the weight by cutting out all junk food, fat, sugar and soda and eating healthy walking 30 minutes everyday. This will make you lose weight but if you keep eating the wrong foods it wont happen. Why do you eat? Address this and you will be on your way. Good Luck.
