Q: Why didn't my belly fat decrease

Recently had surgery that kept me from eating solid foods, was 165 and got down to 130, ive noticeably lost lots of fat around my ribs and every other parts of my body, but i still have a "gut". Ive been able to get back to 145 by lifting weights, and doing crunches still no progress on the ab area, crunches done every night. My schedule doesn't allow for the eat every two hours nor do i want to eat that much, and there is no way i eat more than 2k calories a day.

What do i need to do to get this particular fat to go away. When i tighten my abs you can see them, but if i relax and act normal i literally look obese

Bio:

6' 0" 145

Daily Diet:

Lunch - 1-2 cups rice (200cals),  2/3 cup Grilled chicken strips (200cals), 2 slices of wheat bread (80 calsl) green tea (no calories only 140g sodium)

Dinner - Same as lunch or salad with chicken in it (w/ egss, no dressing)

Hi Camaro,

Unfortunately we all have different problem areas. However, your weight is currently below the recommended amount for your height so you do not want to cut calories. It sounds like you eat a healthy diet that is low in sugar and fat but high in lean meat, fruit and vegetables. And I would continue to eat those types of foods.

Increasing muscle mass takes time, since you have increased your weight to 145 pounds with weight training, you must be putting on muscle mass. Be patient, it often takes longer than we would like to see changes in our bodies. But keep up the good work and the results will come.

Good luck and good health.
