My experience with AmeriShape has not been as happy as others here. The program was placed in a gym lacking the staff to properly follow the program. We did not have any personal trainers, nor were we checked in as we arrived at the gym. The representative that sold me the program failed to tell me that the first week, the week I signed the contract, counted as one of the 36 weeks. I was out of town the rest of that week and unable to go to the gym, but I started on Monday the following week. I clearly told him that I couldn't start until the next week and he said that was no problem! I was also out a week with pneumonia.  Our attendance sheets were not faxed in by the gym, nor were they initialed by gym staff. Now AmeriShape will not let me out on the 36 week option! They are being extremely unreasonable about this. They are saying it is my fault that the gym didn't fulfill their end of the deal! 90% of the time there is NO GYM STAFF on the premises to sign you in when you arrive! It is a very small gym with only two staff members, and one of them is the owner, who we rarely ever see. Now I am stuck with this for 16 more months!!!  I would NOT advise anyone to get involved with AmeriShape.
