Q: Struggling with weight and health issues

I am 54 years old. I am 100 lbs overweight. I have been dieting since I had children 31 years ago. The liquid diet works for me but I quickly gain the weight back. I know this is not the answer for me. I have arthritis in my right knee and leg. Exercise right now is hard. I have tried walking but cant for long periods. I am killing myself and I know it. I have hypertension, diabetes, acid reflux disease. I am tired of feeling sorry for myself. I pray constantly but I know I need to do more than pray. Can you give me any guidance on how to proceed? My last 30 day fast was done in April. I am retired and don't have much money. If you could please show me an economical way out of this weight struggle I have been going through most of my life I would greatly appreciate it.

Find an overeaters anonymous group near you and embrace the program. They offer dietary guidance, support which is very important for you and they cost very little. Reply

Try water areobics.  It is easier on the joints. I have fun with it.

Getting healthy starts in the brain.  If you think you can do it, you can...believe it.  Start in small ways to exercise (you will feel better) in any way you find comfortable.  Walking is great and not hard on the knees in general but your pain should be discussed with you doctor.  Make what you already know to be the right food choices and keep a notebook listing everything you eat and when.  That will make you feel accountable as to what you have put in your mouth, it's  right there in black and white and you can't deny it.  Keep "free" foods like lettuce, celery, air popped corn, etc around so there is always something  to eat when you just have to have something.   Don't go hungry.  Be patient and know that every day you are improving your body.  Time will pass and you'll be able to see the results.  P.S. drink lots of water, it will help you feel full and help flush your system.  Good Luck
