Q: If I stop lifting weights, will my bulging arm veins disappear?

I am a 5'6, 120lb woman, and for months I have been using 4lb free weights at home to try and tone my arms a bit. I just noticed, however, that I have developed bulging blue veins extending from my elbows down to my hands. In a panic, I have stopped using the arm weights, but will these veins ever disappear?

Please please do not stop lifting weights!!!  Veins popping out is just a healthy sign that you are getting in shape, some people's pop out more then others, it's partly genetic.  I've been lifting weights for a few years and mine pop out a lot! Some people, mainly men think it's sexy and a sign of strength in women!  Don't be shy or think their gross learn to love them, cause it just means you are getting in better shape, your body will certainly thank yo in the future!  Almost everyone I know who is in great shape has veins that are more pronounced.....no big deal!

Hi Sarah! I can understand your concern. I am intending to stop weight lifting in order to see if the veins will disappear. Kindly let me know if you tries doing so and if it works.  It might be healthy to have veins therefore it does not answer the question with a yes or no to the question you asked: "will the veins disappear when we stop the weight lifting?"
