Not the world's next Mother Theresa? It might not be your fault: research published in April's issue of Psychology Science shows that people who have particular oxytocin and vasopressin receptor genes were more likely to be generous.
The effect is magnified if the person also has a rosy outlook on the world, but even people without a sunny disposition but with the right receptor genes tended to be more charitable.
