We learned that specific kinds of tattoos are more difficult to remove than others.
About half of people who get a tattoo eventually decide to have it removed. This is done by a laser treatment that uses laser pulses to break up the tattoo ink. Immune cells then remove the ink particles from the body.
According to an Italian study published in the Archives of Dermatology, tattoos done with yellow or blue ink, older and bigger tattoos, and even small tattoos done with black ink can take several years to remove and are often never erased completely.
Researchers also found that it is more difficult to remove a tattoo from the skin of a smoker than a non-smoker, possibly because of smoking’s effects on the immune system.
So make sure you really like her before you tattoo her name on your arm in yellow ink.
