Alfalfa sprout warning issued

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recommending that people not eat raw alfalfa sprouts because of concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella. An outbreak of salmonella stpaul linked to alfalfa sprouts has been reported in six states. The current outbreak appears to be an extension of an outbreak that sickened more than 100 in February and March in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, and Minnesota, officials say.
