Weight loss may help depression

In a recent six-month study, depressed patients who entered a weight loss program not only lost eight percent of their body weight, but they also reported significant improvements in their depression symptoms. Additionally, the patients saw reductions in their triglyceride levels, which are a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The investigators say their study highlights the need for more research into the link between weight loss and psychiatric problems. Read more »
